We want to share the song given to us as a thank-you gift to all quiet workers in Finland
At the beginning of May, we YTK employees received a surprise gift, a song called Kuva made for us to encourage and thank us. During this exceptional spring, many people are working for the common good – not just in Loimaa but all over Finland. That is why we wanted to pass on the good feeling and share the beautiful song with all quiet workers. Listen to the song on YouTube and share it further!

In March, YTK began to prepare for an enormous workload to be faced during the spring. The Board of Directors of YTK spent a long time thinking that coping with the flood of applications will require stretching, strength and tireless working of all YTK employees.
Mikko-Pekka Hanski, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of YTK put the idea into practice and chose music as the means for encouragement. He wanted to create a song that would provide warmth and strength and tell about the appreciation that such quiet efforts deserve.
Mr Hanski managed to attract some front row musicians to implement his idea. Antti Kleemola composed the melody, Annika Tello wrote the touching lyrics, and Sampo Haapaniemi produced the song. The song is sensitively performed by Katri Ylander.
Kuva came as a complete surprise to the YTK employees and they got to hear it in the early days of May
Mikko-Pekka Hanski says that he was quite nervous about the reception of the song. “This is a very important project to me. I have been following the dedicated and industrious working of the YTK staff for some time, and I felt that I am obliged to contribute at least something to the working. I am really happy, if the song also speaks to others who just have to keep on going. It’s unfortunately rare that those people receive thanks.”
Pass on the good thing
At YTK, people are moved by the song and satisfied with it. “It keeps playing in your head and suddenly you’re surprised when you realise that it tells about your work”, says personnel representative Anne Åkerblom.
The YTK staff have enjoyed the song and feel that it need not remain an encouragement for just a small circle of people. “We want Kuva to delight all those workers with whose efforts this crisis is being sorted out. We hope that the song would give strength to everyone who does valuable work. We know that also quiet working is appreciated by many people. Kuva is a good reminder of that”, Åkerblom says.
