Local government pilots on employment to begin in March

In the local government pilots, part of the TE Office's customers will be transferred to municipalities. The experiment will examine whether the services for jobseekers can be improved by arranging the services for jobseekers through municipalities. The aim of the development of services is to achieve faster employment. The local government pilot project is ongoing from 1 March 2021 to 30 June 2023.

The transition period for the Withdrawal Agreement between the UK and the EU expired on 31 December 2020. The EU and the UK signed a Partnership Agreement on 24 December 2020. The impacts of the interpretations of the Withdrawal Agreement and the Partnership Agreement on unemployment security may yet be specified. We will inform you of any changes.

Ministry announced extension of the coronavirus acts

The Government has proposed that the exceptional provisions concerning unemployment security valid until the end of March 2021 will be extended to the end of June 2021. Parliament has not yet decided on the extension. YTK is following up the situation.
