Working in an international organisation
Working at the service of such international organisations in which Finland as a state participates extends the review period for the condition regarding employment. So working extends the 28-month review period during which the person shall fulfil the condition regarding employment of 26 calendar weeks. The review period may be extended by a maximum of seven years. Such organisations include e.g. the UN (and its sub-organisations ILO, UNESCO and UNICEF), as well as other intergovernmental organisations, such as the EU, OECD, WTO, World Bank, the Nordic Council of Ministers, and the Nordic Council.
- Instead, working e.g. in the International Red Cross will not extend the review period for the condition regarding employment. The Red Cross is not an intergovernmental organisation.
- Please note that working in the UN Peacekeeping Forces can be included in you condition regarding employment in Finland.
