If you join the new unemployment fund directly after you have resigned from the previous fund, the period of employment and the period of membership that you have accumulated will follow you to the new fund. This transition is covered by a transition period of one month. If the transition period is exceeded, you will join the new fund as a so-called new member and you will start accumulating the working time from scratch.
Between resigning from the previous fund and joining the new fund there might be a period during which you are not a member of either of the unemployment funds. Even if you were working, the work is not counted towards the condition regarding employment during the time when you are not a member of an unemployment fund.
In order for the period of employment and the period of membership to transfer to the new fund with you, you must have paid your membership fees to the previous fund up to the time of resigning.
In order for you to not lose the period of employment you have accumulated, join the new unemployment fund first and only after that end your membership in the previous fund. You can also give us the right to handle the ending of your previous membership. We will do it immediately after your membership at YTK has started. This is an easy way for you to make sure that you don’t lose the period of employment you have accumulated.
