Do I need to supply a pay statement?

Your pay statement is written proof provided by your employer of the wages and other amounts paid to you. We need this information to process your earnings-related daily allowance application. However, employers are now required to upload the information directly into the Incomes Register. We can therefore get the information from the Incomes Register and do not need you to enclose a pay statement with your application. The Incomes Register is not perfect when it comes to unemployment benefits, and we may still need to ask you to provide certain information yourself.

We do not automatically check the data in the Incomes Register if you do not report your work and earned income to us. Even though we do not require a separate pay statement, always remember to provide information on any work and earned income in your application. This will enable us to process the application with the correct information.

The Incomes Register is not perfect when it comes to unemployment benefits, and we may still need to ask you to provide certain information yourself. If we do need more information, we will let you know via your OmaYTK account. As a rule, you will only need to supply whatever information we specifically ask for to support your application. We may need to ask you about, for example, your holiday pay, any additional amounts paid to you on top of your wages or the period on which your employer’s performance bonus scheme is based.

You should be able to find all this information in your payslips. If not, you can ask your employer or your employer’s accountant.

In other words, we generally no longer need you to send us your pay statement. We get most of the information from the Incomes Register and will ask you via your OmaYTK account if we need anything else.
