Management and organization of YTK Unemployment Fund
Running and managing the unemployment fund's operations requires versatile expertise and solid know-how. We have those!
YTK's organization
We employ more than two hundred professionals for unemployment security.
Our office is located in Loimaa, from where we handle the processing of applications and customer service. The production of our services is supported by business premises maintenance, finance and investment operations, HR, law, public relations and lobbying as well as development and IT. In addition, we have business premises in Turku, where we carry out application processing and customer service. However, during the coronavirus epidemic, we have mainly worked remotely.
All unemployment funds are corporations operating on the mutual liability principle, which means that the YTK members own YTK and decide how YTK works. The general decision-making council of YTK is the general meeting of the Fund, at which the members of YTK elect the Fund's Board of Directors. In addition to the Chairman, the Board of Directors consists of four members. Each year, the Board of Directors elects a Vice Chairman from among its members and appoints a secretary to the Board of Directors. In addition, the Board of Directors appoints the CEO of the unemployment fund and, on a proposal from the CEO, the other members of the Management Team.
YTK Board of Directors 2023
The Unemployment Fund's Board of Directors directs and supervises the operations of the fund and its senior management. For this work, the members of the Board of Directors must have sufficient expertise and know-how. According to the position of the Financial Supervisory Authority, the administration in the unemployment fund requires legal, financial, unemployment security, investment, management, internal control and risk management skills. Our board of directors fully represents all of these. We are proud of our board – with their help, the number of members is increasing, administrative costs are the lowest, measured customer satisfaction is at its peak and we have also been selected among the best workplaces in Finland!
