The amount of alternation compensation is 70 per cent of your full earnings-related daily allowance without child support supplement. The amount of the compensation will be calculated from your salary income before the start of the leave. Salaries are taken into account from a period of 52 weeks.
You can estimate the amount of compensation by using our calculator.
When you work part-time during alternation leave, the income you earn shall be adjusted with the daily allowance. It means that the income reduces the payable compensation. When alternation compensation is adjusted with the income, protection for income shall not be taken into account in the adjustment. You can read more about adjusted daily allowance at /ohjeet-ja-tuki/tietopankki/osa-aikatyo/kuinka-paljon-soviteltua-paivarahaa-maksetaan-.
Alternation compensation is paid for a maximum of five days per calendar week. So if you are working during your alternation leave e.g. on two days a week for your employer, you can receive alternation compensation for a maximum of three days.
