YTK’s membership fee has been tied to the duration of the membership. Your membership fee is the part of the annual membership fee, during which time you have been a member of YTK that year. In 2016 YTK’s annual membership fee is 118 euros.
Your membership can at earliest begin from the day when your membership application arrives to us. We handle membership applications daily. Once your membership application has been handled and the preconditions for the membership studied, you’ll receive a written notice of the matter from us. To ensure your membership, however, you must pay your membership fee once you receive the membership fee invoice from us. After paying the membership fee, your membership begins from the day your membership application arrived to us. The membership fee invoice is sent to you approximately within two weeks from handling your membership application. If you join us in the middle of the calendar year, your membership fee is calculated from the date of joining till the end of the calendar year. After the first year of membership, we send the membership fee invoice for the next calendar year to all our members during November – December so that the due date is at the beginning of the membership fee year in question.
We send the invoice as an e-invoice to your e-bank, by mail or to Itella’s NetPost depending on which means of delivery you have chosen. If you want your membership fee invoice as an e-invoice, choose Yleinen työttömyyskassa YTK as the sender of the invoice in your e-bank and type in the service your membership number and the reference number of your last membership fee invoice.
The reference number of the membership fee invoice changes each year so do not pay your membership fee with last year’s invoice and reference number. The membership fee is only directed correctly when the payment is done using the personal reference number. After the first year of membership, we send the membership fee invoice for the next year to all our members during November – December so that the due date is at the beginning of the membership fee year in question. In order to ensure good customer service also during the beginning of the year, we send the invoices in steps based on the months of birth of the members. The invoicing schedule is given in more detail on our webpage in late autumn before we start the invoicing process.
To maintain your membership, the membership fee must be paid also when you are unemployed, studying, on maternity or care leave, or in military service. By paying the membership fee you maintain the unemployment security you have reached. An unpaid membership fee can be withheld after the due date from the member’s earnings-related daily allowance or alternation compensation. The membership fee is tax deductible. YTK notifies the tax authorities directly of paid membership fees. The membership fee must be paid by the due date and an unpaid membership fee will lead to suspending the member from the unemployment fund retroactively from the date from which the membership fee is not paid for.
